Calliope Shell in time for Spring

I started this project in the winter of 2006/2007 and stopped last year when I realized it wouldn't be finished in time to wear last summer. I picked it up again this winter and finished it. I loved knitting with this yarn and I was thrilled with the finished, blocked product!

Food and Gasoline Needs Cutting into Fiber Budget

I can't believe how fast the cost of food has risen. In the past 4 or 5 months our grocery bill has risen 50%! That's insane!!!

I remember when I could fill up my gas tank for around $18 and now it costs me $45 to fill up.

And since I'm not really buying a lot of yarn these day because I'm spending more on food and gas I'm glad I have a goodly supply of sock yarn to keep me going for at least the next year or 2. Even so, (woman does not live by sock yarn alone) I did break down and buy some Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed at the Knitter's Palette last Wednesday. Eggplant. 17 Skeins. I cast on the Central Park Hoodie over the weekend. I've had this on my projects-to-do list for about a year I think. Anyway, its on the needles now.

Also on the needles - ruffle topped ribbed socks in Trekking XXL - Orange Stripe. 2 socks on 2 circs.

Stuff I've finished recently:

Ok...I realize this doesn't look finished. I got so excited about finishing it and trying it on that I completely skipped taking a finished shot and now its upstairs in my dresser and I'm sorta lazy about getting it out to take a picture of it. This is the reason I haven't posted anything lately but I figured, 'what the hell!' and here we are. There will be a completed picture on this site at some point in the future.

I knitted these on 2 circular needles.
It was my first pair of socks knitted at once.
It was an awesome feeling ot have both socks completed at the same time!!!

Cascade 220 worsted weight yarn.
US #5 16" and 24"

These are my best gussets ever! Check 'em out!

Pictures of new projects coming soon....LOL...along with a picture of the Lace Shell.
