Knitting Pix

I've been knitting...really. I'm back working on the calliope shell in lime green nashua mercerized cotton. I started it last summer but then fall arrived and christmas knitting was more important.

Here's some pix of other stuff I've knitted recently!

Some socks I finished in the Fall...

Chevron - Sensational Knitted Socks

Travelers Stockings - Knitting on the Road

Betsy's Mitten....

...Stocking Cap and Dog Coat

Oh, Here's a pic of the back of the Calliope shell...after one repeat of the pattern

Here's My First Felted Clogs - after felting
(and Ace Toaster-Rider)

DF's Clogs

Jane's Prayer Shawl...in Antique Homespun
I knitted 2 others for the other sisters....different colors of Homespun (Prairie and Tuscan)

Other stuff I'm into this season...getting ready to go to Lutsen to ski with honey on Valentine's Day. We're staying at Bluefin Bay in the same or similar 1 br elite townhouse we stayed in last time - 3 yrs ago? OMG it WAS 3 yrs ago!

I'm listening to A Farewell to Arms on XM Sonic Theater every weekday at 3:30 on my ride home from work. Its a part of the Big Read which is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts (http://www.nea.gov)/ It really makes the commute worth looking forward to. I bought The Sun also Rises on CD to listen to on the drive up to the North Shore and back next week. :-) I guess this is my Hemingway period...again. I also bought Duma Key by Stephen King when it came out....just need to finish up my Jane Haddam book (Hardscrabble Road) so I can start that one.

And in closing, some cute-as-hell cats!

Pi finds this situation deplorable...put down the damn camera and fill up my dish!

Ace is having some weird affair with the toaster

Stripey Ace Kitten

Happy 4706!

Happy Chinese New Year !

I am a Monkey...
Very clever, but mischievous. Love a challenge and can wriggle out of difficult situations by thinking through difficult problems. Highly successful and well-liked.
I guess this fits pretty good actually. Although I'm not so sure about how successful I feel these days. I guess is all depends on how I look at it...I suppose I am, really.

DF is a Boar....
Honest, peace-loving and make good friends. Will try not to argue and rarely lose their temper. Love the good things in life and are very willing to share with others. Enjoy gossip and fall in love easily. Can be untidy people at home.
This describes him so well its sorta scary!

DD is a Rabbit...
Affectionate, gentle with strong family ties. Caring and hates conflict. Peace-makers with lots of friends. Dislike being the centre of attention and enjoy the good things of life.
Gentle?...hmm.... This is a mixed bag...the one thing is for sure...she doesn't like being the center of attention.

DS1 is a Dragon...
Confident, hardworking and always strive to be at the top. Full of energy, determined and will inspire other people. Don’t like routine and are excited by new projects. Show loyalty to friends, popular and fun-loving.
Well it falls apart here. The last statement is true...the rest? maybe its his alter-ego. Maybe he's hiding his light under a basket...he certainly COULD exhibit those traits...I think I may have even seen them a few times over the past 30 years.... hmmm

The Dragon is the only mythical creature in the Chinese zodiac and is looked upon as the luckiest of all the animals. Well he survived a pretty bizarre accident recently....I don't know if that was luck or if he has a faithful guardian angel.

DS2 is a Goat...
Elegant, artistic and good-natured. Inclined to worry too much. Peace-lovers who prefer to avoid disagreements. Others may put upon them, but they are stronger than they seem. Family is very important.
Totally fits him. Totally.
